🎁 Bonuses & Promotions

The max bet rule is enforced here, and the review page shows what that looks like.

The bonus terms set the maximum bet during bonus play at NZ$8 / CA$8, or EUR 5. Purchasing any game feature, including a respin, adds to your bet amount. Exceed it and the casino reserves the right to confiscate the winnings.

A Dutch player documented losing EUR 1,600 to this rule, quoting the casino's response verbatim. They stated they had been playing at 0.40, 0.60 and 1.00 and did not understand where the breach occurred. Whatever happened in that specific case, the rule is real and it is applied. Set your spin value below NZ$8 before your first spin and never adjust it.

Minimum deposit for any bonus: NZ$20, or EUR 20 / USD 10.

A restriction the sister brand does not have: the bonus terms state plainly that "Bonuses can't be used for EGT slots and jackpot slots." EGT supplies a substantial slice of the lobby at casinos in this group. If the games you came for are EGT titles or progressive jackpots, the bonus is worth nothing to you.

Maximum winnings caps:

  • No deposit bonuses and free spins: NZ$75 / CA$75, or EUR 50. The cap persists after wagering is complete, and a EUR 20 deposit is required before withdrawing.
  • Tournament bonuses and personal VIP bonuses: EUR 10,000 / CA$10,000. Anything above is forfeited before withdrawal, with review taking up to 14 business days.

Game contribution: slots 100 percent except the excluded titles. Baccarat, blackjack and hi-lo 5 percent except live dealer. Video poker 5 percent. Roulette and poker 5 percent except live dealer. Crash games 5 percent.

Real money is spent first when the bonus is linked to a deposit. Where you hold real money plus a separately activated bonus not connected to your balance, bonus money is wagered first.

Cancelling a bonus: available directly from the My Bonuses section, which is more convenient than the support ticket several competitors require. Cancel after you have started wagering and all funds earned during that wagering are deducted.

Free spin abuse clause: if you have not wagered the deposit that earned your free spins at least 3 times, excluding table games, management may cancel the spins and any winnings.

Bonus ratio above 50 percent of deposits is treated as abuse, allowing confiscation and removal of bonus access.

Minimal risk betting such as covering red and black simultaneously in roulette, or player and banker in baccarat, does not count toward wagering and risks confiscation.

One bonus per household, IP address and computer. Failing this rule can cost you bonuses and winnings.

Note on bonus codes: Promo codes mentioned in this review were accurate at the time of writing but may have changed. For current, verified codes that are checked daily, see our No Deposit Bonus Codes page. If any of the terms above are unfamiliar, our bonus terms decoder explains what each clause means in practice.

📝 Full Review

Betchan is operated by N1 Interactive Ltd, Malta company registration C 81457, registered at 206 Wisely House, Old Bakery Street, Valletta, and licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority under MGA/B2C/394/2017.

If that reads familiar, it should. It is character for character identical to Bob Casino, which we reviewed separately. Same company, same registration, same address, same licence number, same terms document version 2.8 dated 23 January 2024.

Which raises the question this review is really about: if two casinos share everything on paper, why does one sit at 2.9 on Trustpilot and the other at 2.4?

What the MGA licence gives you

Before the difficult part, the thing that puts Betchan above most of our rankings regardless.

Betchan is one of only two casinos in our rankings licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority. Every other operator we cover holds a Curacao, Anjouan or Tobique licence, and two name no licence at all.

The MGA investigates player complaints, imposes fines and revokes licences. That is enforcement with consequences, which offshore regulators in this market largely do not provide.

The complaints structure is set out in full with contact details:

  • Step one: support@betchan.com
  • Step two: escalation to management on request
  • Step three, after 8 weeks: free referral to the appointed ADR service CasinoReviews.com, with a submission form, a Ta'Xbiex address and complaints@casinoreviews.com
  • Alternative: direct complaint to the Malta Gaming Authority, with its form, address in Birkirkara and phone numbers
  • For EU players: the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform

The terms also state that using the ADR or MGA does not affect your right to bring court proceedings.

Our complaints guide exists because most casinos in this market give you nowhere to go. Here there are three named routes, and the eight week timeline is written into the terms rather than left to the operator's discretion.

Our test

Author's test: Deposit, play and withdrawal all completed without problems. No verification loop, no unexplained holds, no support runaround. The platform did what it should.

The review that made us rate this below its sister brand

One review on the profile does something none of the others do: it compares Betchan directly against the other casinos run by the same company.

A Dutch reviewer with a substantial review history wrote in July 2026:

"While other casinos under N1 Interactive Ltd. have acknowledged their mistakes and refunded me, Betchan has ignored every refund request I've made. They even made me sign a non disclosure agreement but don't stick to the contract. Keep telling me to email in livechat but never respond back."

The casino did not reply to this review.

Why this carries weight beyond a single complaint. The reviewer is not comparing Betchan against unrelated casinos. He is comparing it against the same company operating under the same licence, and reporting that they behaved differently. If accurate, that means the divergence sits at the brand level rather than in company policy, which is exactly the question we were trying to answer.

Two caveats. The reviewer is based in the Netherlands, which is on Betchan's restricted countries list, and the terms state the casino cannot guarantee successful processing of withdrawals or refunds where that policy is breached. And we cannot verify any of it independently.

The NDA detail is also worth noting rather than passing over. Non disclosure agreements attached to casino settlements are not unusual in this industry, but a player publicly stating one exists and alleging the terms were not honoured is unusual, and the casino chose not to respond.

The rest of the complaint record

Betchan's profile sits at 2.4, and reading it properly matters because the composition explains a lot.

Where the complaints come from

Nine of the reviews we examined are from Netherlands accounts. Two are from Switzerland and Austria. One from Albania, one from the UK.

The Netherlands is on the restricted countries list. So are Australia, the UK, the US, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and Ontario specifically. New Zealand and the rest of Canada are not.

That does not make any outcome fair. Accepting deposits from a restricted country and then declining a withdrawal is the worst possible sequence. But for a New Zealand or Canadian player, that portion of the record does not describe your position.

Max bet confiscations

The most substantive complaints trace to one rule. A Dutch player documented losing EUR 1,600 and quoted the casino's response in full, citing bonus term 1.16 on maximum bet with an active bonus. They stated they had been playing at 0.40, 0.60 and 1.00 and did not understand where the breach occurred.

Another Dutch player described winning EUR 600, then EUR 1,400, and having both removed after document submission and lengthy support conversations.

The rule is published and enforced across this whole industry, and our bonus terms decoder covers why it voids more winnings than anything else. What is notable in these accounts is the absence of any in game warning at the moment of the bet, which is a design choice rather than a technical necessity.

A game malfunction with no resolution

A Swiss player reported winning EUR 2,641.20 on Vikings Go Wild in October 2020. After the free games round the game closed and the winnings were never credited to the balance. They took a photograph of the win. Two weeks later they were still being told to be patient while the casino checked with the game provider.

The casino's reply, posted nearly four years later, was: "We're truly sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced. Thank you for your patience."

The terms do address game malfunctions specifically, stating that a miscarried game should be cancelled, the wager refunded, and any accrued credit paid to the account. Whether that happened here we cannot establish.

Verification friction

A Dutch player reported being unable to withdraw EUR 500 because the casino would not accept PDF receipts, while Skrill only issues receipts in PDF.

Another described submitting around 12 documents across three withdrawal attempts totalling EUR 3,600, having them approved, then being asked for the same documents again. Their closing advice is practical and worth repeating: deposit a small amount without a bonus, complete verification, withdraw it, and only then play seriously once you know the account is clear.

Third party deposits

One Dutch player described depositing on behalf of an 89 year old woman who could not use a computer herself, and having her EUR 2,000 withheld and the account blocked.

The terms are unambiguous on this: deposits must come from an account registered in your own name, and violation means winnings confiscated and the deposit returned to the payment account owner. The rule exists for anti money laundering reasons and applies at every regulated casino.

His complaint was that the restriction was not obvious enough. That is a fair point about presentation, though the rule itself is standard and correct.

The other side

Long term positive accounts exist and they are specific.

A Dutch player reported playing for two years and being paid every time, with wins ranging from EUR 1,000 to EUR 10,000. A Swiss player in February 2025 described smooth withdrawals with no delays. A UK player noted fast payouts and no complaints. An Albanian player reported a 1,500x win and withdrawals reaching an e-wallet in under an hour.

Our own test also completed cleanly.

The pattern in the replies

Something structural is worth naming. Almost every casino reply on this profile is a variation of the same message: we are sorry, please contact support with your details.

Several were posted in August 2024, responding to reviews from 2019 and 2020. Answering a four year old complaint about a specific EUR 2,641 malfunction with a generic apology is not engagement, it is profile maintenance.

Bob Casino, the sister brand, does the same thing in places but with noticeably more case specific replies. That difference in communication is part of why the two profiles diverge.

Withdrawal limits and payments

  • Daily: NZ$4,000 / CA$4,000, or EUR 4,000
  • Weekly: NZ$10,000, or EUR 10,000
  • Monthly: NZ$40,000, or EUR 40,000
  • Minimum withdrawal: NZ$10, or EUR 10
  • Minimum deposit: EUR 20 or USD 10

Above EUR 40,000 the casino may split payouts into monthly instalments of EUR 20,000.

No fees on any method. Trustly and e-wallets process instantly on withdrawal. Cards take 1 to 3 banking days, Interac e-Transfer 1 to 3, bank transfer 1 to 5.

Two limits to plan around: bank transfer requires a EUR 500 minimum, and Paysafecard is deposit only, so if you fund with it you will need another route out.

Interac works both ways for Canadian players. Deposits up to CA$6,000, which is higher than the sister brand allows, and e-Transfer withdrawals from CA$30 to CA$4,000, free and 1 to 3 banking days.

Verification becomes mandatory once cumulative withdrawals reach EUR 2,000. Submit documents well before that.

All deposits must be wagered 3x before withdrawal, applying whether or not you take a bonus.

A copy paste error worth mentioning

In the Betchan bonus terms, the clause on cancelling a bonus reads: "Please contact PlayAmo's support service to find out more about cancelling your bonus."

PlayAmo is a brand operated by Novatrix SRL, a different company in a different jurisdiction, which we have also reviewed. The clause is a leftover from a document that was copied between operators.

It changes nothing about how the casino works. We mention it because it tells you something about how these documents are produced, and because we read the terms line by line at every casino specifically to catch things like this.

Responsible gambling and dormant accounts

The MGA mandates player protection and the tooling reflects it: deposit, loss, wager and session limits, cooling off periods and self exclusion, all set from within your account. Decreases apply immediately, increases require email confirmation and only take effect after the previous limit expires.

Hourly reality check notifications appear during play.

One process quirk shared with the sister brand: if you self exclude you cannot log in to request a withdrawal of a remaining balance, and must email support instead. The funds are paid, but the route is awkward at exactly the moment a player is trying to disengage.

The dormant account clause runs in your favour. After 12 months without login a EUR 5 monthly fee begins from month 13, with a reminder email each month. Then, if the account stays inactive for 30 months, the balance is remitted back to the player. Only the two N1 brands in our rankings do this. Everywhere else the fee simply eats the balance to zero.

If you need support independent of any casino, Gambling Helpline NZ and GamCare are free and confidential.

Restrictions

Australia is restricted. So is Ontario specifically, along with the Netherlands, UK, US and a long list of others. New Zealand and the rest of Canada are not.

Canadian players cannot access NYX or NextGen games. Australian players cannot access Amatic or Microgaming titles, which is academic since Australia is restricted anyway.

VPN use to access from a restricted region allows account blocking and confiscation of funds. Politically Exposed Persons are not accepted.

German players face a 5.3 percent fee on every real money bet, debited at the moment of the bet, plus a EUR 1,000 monthly deposit cap. This does not affect New Zealand or Canadian players.

Verdict

Betchan runs on the strongest regulatory foundation in our rankings. A Malta Gaming Authority licence with genuine enforcement behind it, an operator named down to its Maltese registration number, three separate escalation routes including the MGA itself, a complete responsible gambling suite, dormant balances returned rather than consumed, no fees on any payment method, and NZ$40,000 monthly withdrawal limits. Our own test completed cleanly, and long term players report consistent payouts including wins up to EUR 10,000.

It sits at 7.8 rather than alongside its sister brand for reasons that are specific rather than atmospheric.

The Trustpilot score is 2.4 against Bob's 2.9, on identical infrastructure. The complaint record contains more confiscations, including several max bet cases and an unresolved EUR 2,641 game malfunction. The casino replies are almost entirely generic, several posted years after the review. Bonuses are unusable on all EGT and jackpot slots, a restriction the sister brand does not carry.

And one reviewer, comparing Betchan directly against other casinos run by the same company, states that the others acknowledged mistakes and refunded him while Betchan ignored every request. We cannot verify it, the reviewer was in a restricted country, and the casino did not respond. But it is the clearest available answer to why two brands sharing a licence produce different records, and it points at the brand rather than the company.

If you play here: complete verification with a small deposit and withdrawal before playing seriously, skip the bonuses given the EGT and jackpot exclusions, or set your spin below NZ$8 and never adjust it if you take one. Deposit only from an account in your own name. Escalate to the ADR after eight weeks rather than continuing to email, because unlike most casinos in this market you actually have somewhere to go. And compare against the alternatives, including the sister brand, in our New Zealand casino rankings.
